The Lowtechs
Wednesday, 21 April 2010
Baguio underground veterans formed in April 2007. Initially armed
with terribly low tech rehearsal equipment, they attempted to
form a Doors-inspired band, but quickly snapped on 80's rock
icons as musical influences thus creating their own brand of
post-punk and metal music. The band independently released their
debut album “Anniversary of the Machinery” under their own label
Freezer Disk Recordings on May 2009 and toured it in the most
popular bars in Metro-Manila and Baguio City.
The band released 4 singles at NU107. Their first single
"Chapters" at NU107 and became Redhorse Stand Out track of the
week on Jan. 2008, "Annihilation", "Gloom Child", the infectious
"Tears of FIre" and "The Gathering."
THE LOWTECHS has been nominated Best New Artists in the 2009
NU107 Rock Awards and Best Breakthrough Act in the 2009
Junksounds Awards in South East Asia. In 2010 they've been
nominated Favorite Myx Bandarito Performance.
Their debut album is available at Odyssey outlets, also at The
Junkie Shop, Cubao X, and at Sound Quotient Studio, 154 Maginhawa
St., Sikatuna QC.
